New Journal Layout

  • Feb. 23rd, 2009 at 10:42 PM
I have to say, I really love this journal layout.  It's like a motivation for me to write another entry.  It's too bad that I don't have time to write one right now.  I should be working on a paper.  I've been twittering a lot these days.  It takes no time at all and much easier.  Tho it feels less personal.

Obama Sells!

  • Jan. 23rd, 2009 at 4:59 PM
How does Obama boost the economy?  By being a merchandising machine!  Nobody is selling like Obama is selling.  Forget "sex sells"...Right now, it's "Obama sells!"

I heard Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" song for the first time today, and immediately I knew that I had heard it somewhere before.  It's pretty the chorus of James Blunt's "Wisemen" song.  Except Elton John wrote it decades before....and it was a better song.

Sorry James, you had a decent song, but not nearly as good...or original.

Both Tennessee artists, and I found them through the Ten out of Tenn tour (which is a similar concept as the Hotel Cafe tour), and I'm going to see them this sunday.  Can't wait!!!!!!  They have such an amazing roster of musicians.

Oh yea...Old favorite that just came out with a new CD this year.

This guy has a totally unique voice, and he writes the most non-christian sounding Christian music.  It's awesome.

Britney's new video yay!

  • Dec. 5th, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Britney Spear's baby one more time CD was the first CD I ever bought for myself, and it makes me happy that she's back on top again.  Her new video is crazy (literally), and she hangs with lions.  O_o  I think the director did a great job.  Wardrobe department made a mistake tho.  Brit's main costume just looks weird.  Anyhoo, Bvlgari is probably really happy cause they just had tons of ppl watch that video.

Ringback Tones

  • Nov. 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 AM
You know, I always thought ringback tones were kind of uselss and somewhat annoying after awhile, but now I see the beauty of it.  It blatantly tells people your music taste, and it shows a little personality.

So if you were to call me from now on, Monday-Friday is Jack Johnson's "Traffic in the Sky," and Sat-Sun is The Cranberries' "Dream."

Sometimes LJ really pisses me off

  • Nov. 21st, 2008 at 1:26 PM
I love LJ.  I think it's a great interface, but sometimes it's just annoying as heck.  By sometimes, I mean rarely, but as if you have noticed.  Most of the links on the right side of my blog is gone.  They were more or less like my online bookmarking system, but now it's all gone with one click of a button.  I was trying to add a new link, and I made a mistake.  And I reset the page thinking that it wouldn't save over it.  No, it totally did.  So now I don't have links to any of those pages anymore, and I have to hunt them down.  Super annoying and not cool.  I'm switching over to de.licious.

And that's how it goes...

  • Nov. 21st, 2008 at 1:01 PM

Boston Red Sox need to step it up yo!  You guys evidentaly don't have the cool merchandise that the Yankees and the Mets do.  Not only do we have hats, t-shirts, and bobble heads.  We are now selling coffins.

Yes, that's right.  Coffins so that "die-hard" fans can sleep in them for all eternalty and be a fan.

Gmail is now a MUST HAVE

  • Nov. 20th, 2008 at 3:54 PM
I've been using gmail for years, and I still prefer it over programs like outlook.  It categorizes everything, it searches, and I can put stars on the important emails.  Not only that, but it consolidates emails with the same title line.  It's a great handy website and the best email client there is IMO.  Today, it just got better.  They introduced gmail themes that makes my inbox seem like a bundle of fun, and I love it.  The designs look fresh, and some of them delicious.  Like the candy one I'm using.

You can read more about it here.

Say Hello to Red

  • Nov. 14th, 2008 at 10:00 PM
Never in my life did I think I would be able to pull off red lipstick.  Ever!  I just thought that red was the color for blonde bombshells like Christina Aguilera or Gwen Stefani.  Today, I went to Sephora to find foundation cause my old one is running out.  After I got what I wanted, which is the Dior Hydraction SPF 20 Tinted moisturer, I poked around the store for interesting items.  Obviously, this was the best and the worst idea.  Most girls know that if you stick around Sephora long enough, you WILL find something you like.  And you WILL buy it.  It's a matter of fact.  At least for me.  So it's a very dangerous store to go into.  Annnnyways, I found the BeneFit red lipstick, and decided why the hell not?  So I put it on, and for like ten seconds, I just looked at myself quizzicly (totally not a word...I think).  I wasn't sure if it looked good or weird, but a lady walked by and said, "Wow, that color looks great on you. It really works with your dark black hair.  It really has that movie star quality."  So after she walked by, I looked at the mirror again, and I agreed.  So I bought it, and now I love it.  I'm so happy I got it because it's a bold color.  It makes me look bold and feel bold.  I was bold for buying it.  AND this lipstick is fantastic.  I've worn it for hours now, and even when I was eating dinner, the lipstick didn't come off.  Nor did my glass stain.  I was super impressed as I had no idea that it had that ability.  I love it!

So say hi to Red.....and me cause I'm camwhoring it. ;)

The true story...

  • Nov. 11th, 2008 at 11:15 PM
embarrassed
This is just a random thought I had while riding my bike home tonight.  Every where in NY, lots of record stores and cafes are closing.  However, most of "Psychic Palm Reading" places still have not close.  I never see anybody walk into those places, but they are still open.  So the conclusion I've come up with is that those stores are actually fronts for the under ground society.  They probably do drug dealings.  People get high there, and think that they have had an extraterrestrial experiences or something.  And that's how they stay open.

So yes...that is my theory.

Eek! Bad name.

Celebrities think in a whole different mindset.  In fact, they are crazy.  I just found out that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban named their child Sunday Rose.  WTF!?  That will be one unhappy rose when she grows up.

*waaaaahhhh!!!!!!* ;_;

I lost my cellphone yesterday.  I went to so many places that I have no idea where it is, and it's not likely I'll get it back.  At the moment, I don't have anybody's number memorized (except for Donovan's), and I only vaguely remember my parent's.  Life without a phone is so inconvenient.  Plus, I've lost the number of all my contacts too.  Some of who's I'll never get back ever cause they are of my friend's in MS. Though I haven't called them in years, it doesn't mean I won't go back there one day and would like to see them again.  *cries a river*

Hulu.com

clockwatching

I forgot if I've made a post about this, but I LOVE hulu.com .  It's a site that hosts free TV and movies, paid by advertising, so it's completely legal.  They started out not having that many shows that I want to watch, but they are slowly adding more and more stuff.  They've also drastically added to their anime section, which has everything from Death Note to Kiddy Grade.  Most of them are dubbed, which is unfortunate, but even the dubbing is getting better with time.  When anime first came to the states, they had terrible voice actors.  @_@  Anyhoo, this is my first time watching Kiddy Grade, and I'm actually enjoying it a lot.  I remember back in HS, all the otaku boys online were totally into it because it was two scantily clad girls kicking butt (which is apparently the formula for success).  But even though it appeals more to the male audience, I still find it amusing. Also, it's not really a purposely ecchi show.  It just has brief moments of fan service.

Purposely ecchi shows are just distasteful to me.  There are way too many anime shows with one guy, five girls, and their boobs and panties get in his face every day.  It's sooooooooooooooooooo annoying.  How does that not get old???

Oh well, back to my Kiddy Grade watching.  Just so you know, I'm also studying Japanese vocab in the mean time.  It's not a complete waste of time right?

Anime on Hulu:

Bleach
Death Note
Galaxy Railways
Ikki Tousen
Kiddy Grade
Mushi-shi
Naruto
Peach Girl
Rumbling Hearts
School Rumble
Slayers

Tales of the Abyss (Anime)

  • Nov. 7th, 2008 at 6:05 PM
playingDS

There are a few animes that I'm following right now.  Most of them are new ones that only have a few episodes out.  So far I like "Earl and Fairy" (although it's getting old pretty quick), "To Aru Majutsu no Index" (Donovan likes this one and so we watch it together), and "Tales of the Abyss."  I love love love adventure anime shows, so it makes me happy that it's a lot an epic rpg.  The characters get lost, they travel through their world, and they encounter lots of people and cute animals.  I love it!  It's also based off the rpg, so it all makes sense.  I'm only on the second episode right now, but I already like it so much.  I'm also watching Linebarrels of Iron, only the first episode so far.  I don't know if I'm impressed enough by it to stick with it.  There's already been too much mecha stories, and this one isn't funny enough.  I enjoy light hearted anime a lot more.

Anyhoo, I love crunchyroll.  It's my friend.

I Love Natto

  • Nov. 7th, 2008 at 9:14 AM
brain-broken

I love natto. I'm not exactly sure why because I was kind of repulsed by it the first time I had it. For some reason though, the day after I had it, I started craving. Since then I've eaten a lot of natto. Maybe I just have this thing for very slimy, mushy things. After all I love avocado and eggplants. I found out last night while doing some reading that natto has health benefits too. I guess my body just craves those vitamins that natto has? Who knows, but I love eating it with rice. :D Plus, it's sooooo cheap.  It's like 2 dollars for three servings of natto.

Btw, if you want to try natto, I'm warning you that it's not the most pleasant thing in the world if it's your first time.  It's an acquired taste type of thing.

Richard Lloyd Parry
from Times Online describes it well.

"It smells like a mixture of overripe Gorgonzola and putrefying hazelnuts. Its texture is that of slugs stuffed with mozzarella. It is natto, or rotten soybeans, and it is one of the world’s most challenging foods, as loved and loathed in Japan as black puddings are in Britain or rotten herrings in Sweden. And in the past few days it has become a cult, as natto-mania has swept Japan, emptying supermarket shelves and leaving soybean fermenters scrambling to catch up with the unprecedented surge in demand."
