Britney's new video yay!

  • Dec. 5th, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Britney Spear's baby one more time CD was the first CD I ever bought for myself, and it makes me happy that she's back on top again.  Her new video is crazy (literally), and she hangs with lions.  O_o  I think the director did a great job.  Wardrobe department made a mistake tho.  Brit's main costume just looks weird.  Anyhoo, Bvlgari is probably really happy cause they just had tons of ppl watch that video.

ROFLCOPTER! SPEED WALKING IS HILARIOUS

  • Sep. 7th, 2008 at 7:13 PM
I hope they keep this competition in the Olympics for forever...that way I can snicker at it every time I see it.  I think just about every sport looks more graceful than this one.  XD  I feel bad laughing at it cause I'm sure those ladies worked very hard to win, but it's just so darn silly looking.

The Most Amazing Cakes EVER!

  • May. 24th, 2008 at 1:20 PM
I found this on youtube and was amazed.  Apparently, it's completely edible and taste great.  Check out their website at Confetti Cakes.  The artistry is superb.  Too bad it's a minimum of $1000 per cake, so only super rich people can afford it.  I suppose that's the price of edible art, but I think for a wedding, it would be worth it to go all out.

Embedding is disabled, but check out the video of the most amazing cake ever!

I used to this song was a bit repetitive, but now I really like it.  She has a good voice and this song is very charming.

I'm Back at Home

  • May. 16th, 2008 at 1:22 PM
It's so great that I'm at home now.  The last few days have been pretty hectic but amazing.  My mom came into the city and we went out and ate a lot.  Like a lot a lot.  Asian parents always stuff you silly.  At one point, we were at Time Square and caught Will Smith at his trailer.  We got to shake his hand.  (See the footage in the video.  It's forealz ppl.)  Among other things, I passed my Muslim Politics final with flying colors.  I got an email from another professor telling me that my final paper was good enough to submit to a magazine.  I was super excited because I worked really hard for my music writing class.  I don't really care if it makes it into the magazine because I have no ambition to be a writer, but it's a honor to be among the chosen.  So I'm happy.

I also moved into my apartment or at least dumped all my stuff there.  Aside from that, life has pretty much been good so far.  I'm was super excited to see Brian.  He's cuter than ever now.  I'll upload pictures real soon.Kathleen and Shining are still in school, so I don't see them as much but they are happy that I'm back.   Donovan and I went to a cool salon yesterday, and he finally got a haircut after four months.  His fro was so big that even my mom commented that he needed a haircut.  I nickedname him Dono-fro for awhile.  But now he looks like a hot European stud.  hehe.  Anyhoo, it's good to be back.  For some odd reason, I don't have any urge to play games or watch dramas.  I want to work really hard on music this summer, so it's off to piano practice I go.  Hope you have a good summer. ;)

Foo Fighters at the Grammys

  • Feb. 11th, 2008 at 12:21 PM
Another great performance that I immensely enjoyed last night.  Take note that Ann Marie Calhoun, the violinist that they keep showing won the "My Grammy Moment" contest to play with the Foo Fighters on stage.  Only it's not quite fair because she's already a professional and has toured with Steve Vai before.  Regardless, she still kick ass.

Daft Punk RULES!

  • Feb. 11th, 2008 at 11:45 AM
Go You
I was at the New York Grammy Chapter party last where they aired the Grammy on the big screen at the Hard Rock Cafe.  This was one of the coolest performances of the night.  Mostly because Daft Punk rules, AND it's their first live televised performance ever.  Okay, no more spoiling it for you guys, but it was a great moment.  I screamed.  Kanye's light up suit takes prop too.  His elaborate costumes always amuse me.

王傑 傷心1999

  • Jan. 12th, 2008 at 3:59 PM
cellphone
Occasionally, I get non-sexual crushes on musicians.  Dave Wang is my latest, and he is also my parents' favorite (also Brian's) musician.  He's one of the few very famous Chinese musicians that also write his own music (most of it at least).  The meaning to this song, at least what I understand of it, is very beautiful.  I more or less talks about his failed marriage to his wife, who left him bankrupt and with a daughter to take care of.  It's a very melancholy song about how no matter how he struggles, none of it matters to her.  ;_;  He originally named this song Ai Chien Sa Sho, which means Love Killer.  But eventually, it became Sadness in 1999.  This concert was shot one week after he recorded in the song in studio, and the first time he ever sang it for a crowd.  This is Brian's second favorite song after "Annie."

Debussy's Clair De Lune (Moonlight)

  • Jan. 11th, 2008 at 9:15 PM
This is a pretty difficult song to play, at least on my level of piano instruction, but one day I shall learn how to play it.  I am absolutely mesmerized by this song and thinks it's one of the greatest compositions ever.
